Overview:

Kenan (also spelled Cainan in New Testament genealogies) is the fourth antediluvian patriarch in the Sethite lineage recorded in Genesis 5.

Born when his father Enosh was 90 years old, Kenan fathered Mahalalel at age 70 and lived an additional 840 years. Though little narrative detail is recorded about his individual life, his longevity of 910 years makes him the fourth longest-living figure in the Hebrew Bible.
