Lamech of the line of Cain was a violent man. He boasted of killing a man for wounding him1. He linked himself to the divine protection provided by God to Cain2 although he claimed that his retribution was ten times greater than Gods’s – a boastful and wicked claim.
The line of Cain is not continued after this Lamech, instead the record transitions to the line of Seth (God’s chosen line) which end with a different Lamech who was the father of Noah.
